Paying Attention…

“The flow of time and attention into machines.

Used to go to Nature.

Now nature stands ignored.

We are clearly in the Winter of our relationship with nature, yes?

Now machines consume our Time and Attention and therefore impact their qualities. Naturally!

No wonder nature is withering away. Dis-Appearing? Only an Appearance can Dis-Appear. See how that works?

Virtual reality meanwhile grows ever-richer, in every dimension. Data expanding geo-metrically, Guzzling material, power, attention, money, currency…to stay alive and thrive.

The loss is real and the gains are ephemeral.

Attention, the sum total of our sense-awareness. Where is your attention? What are we individually and collectively pouring our attention into?

Quite simple, see what is growing (industrial dystopia) and what is shrinking (Nature).

iPad, EyePad, my pad or your pad?

I live in a flat. A box. no shox.

Predictable. Safe. Uniformity.

Since eternity.

Same is safe and safe is same,

same old game

over and over.

See how?

How about the over and under?

Rule book torn

Not a fight

See how they did it? Right is right and left is wrong.

Left behind.

Right ahead.

Any surprise 95% of the world is conformingly, comfortably right-handed? And thus left brained.

I have a feeling I’m a closet ambi-dexterist and also have an equally strong feeling that we might all be.

Can you imagine the balancing impact on the world if all the natural lefties were allowed to be free?

We are living in an uber-conformist world. And the conformity is no accident. Statistically, does that make any sense at all?

The Industrial revolution needed conformity at every level to grow like the cancer it has been. The similarities between the industrial revolution and it’s spawn and Cancer are quite staggering. Of course, because cancer IS a disease borne of the IR. Unlimited growth. Case closed, right? Unlimited growth in total dis-regard of bio-spherical impact.

Self-cannibalizing. Cancer kills it’s host, see? So does industrialization.

Conformity, uniformity…. they are everywhere. Culture’s awesome power, got the world’s attention captured, only like deer in headlights.
