My Practice… Spiral.

Hope everyone is feeling balanced. Centered.

Please see the video below for an un-alloyed, un-edited and un-varnished look inside what brought me to the place where I speak with the sporadically ferocious authority born of a growing self-knowledge.

A mix of music and a stream of consciousness about the practise of spiral, about which you can read here:

The First Exercise (a post), is the first exercise on the Spiral way.

Any open, considered and thought-provoking interactions are absolutely welcome and actively encouraged. Engaging will usually mean hard shifts in world-views, but those are coming anyway, might as well be ready, yes?

The intent of my putting this here will obvious to those who need to see it. For everyone else, this is “for reals” time. I hope you have a practice of your own.

I recorded this about a year ago, when I was finally be-coming free, inside. A lot of un-winding. I’m sure CA would give me an awesome astrological reason why.

Now it’s time to share.

My name is VivekAnand.

The Spiral Path

Spiral guidance is a series of guided sessions, taking participants on a journey of unique self-discovery. On the other side, practitioners will have a deep and abiding sense of self and integrity. The sessions focus alternately on the physical and meta-physical levels of awareness, guiding people to become hyper or meta-aware, hyper-sensitive even, in the best sense of the term.

About Spiral Guidance

Spiral seeks to encourage individuals to dive into themselves to discover the deepest drivers for their motivations/actions and at the same time become deeply sensitive to their physical and emotional environment.

Combining subtle physical and meta-physical exercises, Spiral leads an individual through a journey of authentic self-discovery.

Individuals who have gone through Spiral guidance are:

  • Centered
  • Balanced
  • Grounded
  • Meta-Aware
  • Focused
  • In complete integrity with their Purpose

They command their space with the authority of deep self-knowledge. Their path consistently represents the optimum road to a desired outcome.

Spiral goes beyond training, because trained response always breaks down under some degree of pressure. It is our firm belief that core aspects of an individual’s constitution (Integrity, Ethics, Self-knowledge, Enthusiasm) cannot be taught but are discovered and once discovered, not easily lost.

While traditional teaching allows an individual to function within the confines of a box/system, Spiral Guidance gives them the tools to allow them to be their extra-ordinary selves in these extra-ordinary times. The tools allow them to operate at their optimum level, never wasting time, energy or money in actions that do not serve their or their networks highest goood.

Individuals that are integrated in this way become engines of cause instead of the instruments at effect.

The Signposts along Spiral Guidance are deeply rooted in a blend of ancient and modern teachings and methodologies, mostly identified as shamanic in their origin.

Taking Spiral Guidance is the equivalent of taking the “Red” pill.

ok, how much does it cost?

    • January 24, 2011 7:34 am

Martin, it’s not about money, or there would have been a DVD out already, eh? 🙂
Do you feel really called by it? Some spark? It’s a huge decision, for both the in-structure and and in-structuree…

Speaking of spiral guidance, have just experienced what is (to me) a profound new, deeper understanding. And immediately thought of you.

Reading about Nikolai Kozyrev’s life work, inspired by observing spirals in nature whilst in the Gulag. The image of the nautilus shell suddenly prompted new insight –

I see in the nautilus spiral, a rising up. A moving towards the One. Just as one observing, might trace the path of the eagle’s flight. Spiralling above. Ever up and away, into the distance:

“And so I watched the eagles’ flight,
Turning ever inward, out of sight,
    Serene departing earthly ball,
I did not know how they fly at all.”

“Growth”, as seen superficially in the physical realm, is “seen” or experienced as the opposite. A spiralling away, out from the beginning and the Oneness. A comparatively “downwards” and “outwards” path, perhaps?

I have never before considered this aspect of spirals.

Truly, a spiritual “growth”, a Returning to Oneness, must follow a spiral path:

    “DNA, twin helix of life,
Jacob’s Ladder, from earth to Light.
    Turning, returning, spiralling tall,
A stairway to heaven inside us all.”

Very nice BI. And true. It does not have to be spiral, it just IS! 🙂

      • February 18, 2011 5:33 am

        Indeed. It just IS.

And as with the angels seen ascending AND descending on Jacob’s Ladder, the only real question is, “Which direction am I travelling in?”.

During a near death experience the spiral leads through darkness–toward the light. ccw

    I like spirals

Leaving the ship it was a shadowy world he entered. The earth and the sky breathed solemnly in anticipation of something. Looking around, he realized that he was in the midst of many wispy giants. Gazing at his own body, surprise and recognition flashed his consciousness. He had become one of them, but with a difference. He knew what they were; an ethereal mineral based human form. They lacked everything but the vague shape of a human body. One could easily pass through another. He joined the swirl. These prototypical humans were unaware of Everett, of the difference between, aware only of the constant motion

In the space between, a vapor came to be that carried an urgency of propagation. New giants formed in the mist, the space would then diminish. The dance continued on, again and again. He was lost in it.

Eventually he came to himself, sitting down away from the activity; he lowered his head into his hands and felt the beating of his heart in sync with the surroundings. He knew that separation was foreign to this odd world, yet separation was what it was all about. He was aware of the yearning and the mindless purity of being.

Looking to the horizon he saw a red spiral pattern of flowing minerals repeating constantly in all directions. Neither liquid nor solid the spirals approached and covered him completely. The largest one located itself at the base of his spine. Overwhelmed, he lay down for what seemed an eternity. Everett then felt and saw the change. The yearning had been answered. Visible buds began to form on the facets of the giant mineral beings.

Suddenly the heavens poured out a swirl of fire and rain. Everett, brought to his feet, began the walk back to the ship, his sense of an individualized self returned as he made his way. The spirals, still in evidence, had changed in velocity. Slowing, they substantiated and became a denser matter in transition.

“What happened to all the people who used to work at your factories?” queries Everett.

“The clever ones got educated enough to push numbers around on a screen. I pay them well. The others I guess just have to fend for themselves. It is a hard world Everett, I don’t waste time dwelling on the fate of others, unless of course, they get in the way. One just has to be practical,” he said emotionlessly.

Everett followed his host into an elevator in a lobby of the greatest building on the most elegant boulevard in the city. The high-speed elevator whisked them past the floors of finance to an opulent penthouse with a three hundred sixty degree view. The door of the penthouse was made from exotic Brazilian hardwoods. It is large.

“How tall is that door?” asked Everett of his host.

The host replied, “It is fifteen feet in height, five feet in width with a thickness of six inches. I spent a small fortune importing the hardwood from Brazil, an endangered species for sure, but look at the burling. The rope and the life saver mounted on it give it a nice nautical effect, don’t you think?” He then turned to Everett and said, “Look to the sea. All those yachts belong to my friends. If we are not masters of the universe, we are certainly the masters of this world. It is a good thing for us and we damn well enjoy it.”

An uneasy feeling enveloped Everett. He understood how difficult it would be to ignore the siren call of this opulent materialism. The wealth gave him pause, but something more than that gave him the previously mentioned feeling of unease. The host lit a large and aromatic cigar and poured drinks for Everett and himself. Everett again looked out to sea, beyond the armada of luxury and sights a giant glowing spiral whirling madly on the horizon. The spiral was reflected onto the sea as the water began to roil and boil.

The luxurious yachts bounced around like matchboxes on a trampoline. The sea rapidly transformed into a gigantic tsunami. The wall of water crashed through the penthouse windows extinguishing first the cigar and then Everett’s host.

You have traveled a remarkable journey !!!!!!!

I ponder about one’s core, essence. How is it that some of us evolve,
and most do not see the light of day.

    Bravo on your good work

Tai Chi is the way of the spiral. Chi moves in spirals and in fact the Yin-Yang symbol is a 2-dimensional representation of spiraling movement. So my practice is spiral too!

Vivek, The spiral is like the labyrinth, the exercises are similar. One travels in circles, not on the circumference of a circle, which is different from a linear “gnana” movement. One does not know if one is on the outside, as you imply, or already on the inside, both are journeys of discovery, wandering from uncertainty towards clarity. To the Bindu or to Brahma.
The spiral becomes even more significant when we close our eyes, then it is a labyrinth without walls or lines, we wander through time and space, and the intertices give us reference, desire and faith are our compass. Consider Narasimha – who waits not at a door, not at a threshold, not by day, not by night, and so on, not in given places, not at defined points. But he comes to take away the ego and our sense of indestructibility. So was my journey.
    Travel well.

Vivek — meaning of your name is clear thinking, if I remember correctly? I’ll be back to listen to your Spiral… Makes me think of “Windmills of your mind” —
Round like a circle in a spiral
Like a wheel within a wheel
    Never ending on beginning
    On an ever-spinning reel…

Spiral and spiral theory is the center(master)piece of the practical philosophy of George Oshawa, founder of the Macrobiotic diet and philosophy. Anyone who is food aware owes a nod to Oshawa and his main students, Michio and Aveline Kushi, who brought Macrobiotics to America. Dive in. And Vivek, thank you for this very fine blog. your words, thoughts and subtle tone ring true. Blessings.
